Seaman Hall

Our Building is called Seaman Hall. While the name sounds funny, actually it is a reference to Bishop Seaman, who was Bishop of the Diocese of Northwest Texas . Our building was built in 1932 using a grant from the United Thank Offering. Seaman Hall has been used as a campus ministry, St. Paul's on the Plain's worship and parish hall, the first home of the Lubbock Symphony, and was the first place people could legally dance in Lubbock. Quite a history for this grand building!

Seaman Hall has recently undergone a major renovation project. We now have a handicap accessible building: with new bathrooms and a new wheelchair lift between the first and second floors. We also have a completely renovated kitchen with new appliances, expanded space for preparing food and eating in the kitchen. We even have a dishwasher! We have all new electrical, plumbing, and heating and air.

Also, Canterbury has new fixtures and furniture that take the building back to its 1930's feel. We are so excited and thankful to all who have helped with our newly renovated space, especially the donors who have given to the project, and Absolute Quality Construction, who did an excellent job in the renovation!
